If you’re planning to represent yourself in court - perhaps for a family matter – there’s more help at hand in Ventura County.

Representing yourself in court can be a way to save costs, but it’s also daunting and complex for non-legal professionals.

Ventura Superior Court has launched Self-Help Call-Centers to help self-represented litigants navigate the services available.

Jodie Prior, Managing Attorney of Ventura Superior Court Self Help Centers, says the service is an extension of the outdoor self-help triage they now offer to guide and direct people to the best source of help for their needs.

For Civil issues, self represented litigants may contact the Civil Self-Help Call Center at (805) 289-8812. The Center accepts calls from 1:30pm to 3:30pm Monday through Friday, except for court closures and holidays.

For Family Law issues self represented litigants may contact the Family Law Self-Help Call Center at (805) 289 8732. The Center accepts calls from 1:30pm to 3:30pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, except for court closures and holidays.

Spanish language assistance is also available at both centers.
