Santa Barbara Museum of Art has reopened

One of the most popular art museums on the Central and South Coasts has reopened their doors to the public this week.

It houses works from some of the most famous artists in the world, the country and the region - from Monet to Matisse.

After a year where they’ve had to shift online, because of the pandemic, this week Santa Barbara Art Museum welcomed back visitors.

It's been a difficult year, says the museum’s director, Larry Feinberg.

"We were able to do a fair amount on line, but of course it's not the same. It's been difficult being closed to the public for so long," he told KCLU.

"It did give the staff a lot of time to plan forthcoming exhibitions but we are really excited to be open again," said Feinberg.

SBMA will return to normal operating hours of Tuesday – Sunday, 11 am – 5 pm and Thursday, 11 am – 8 pm.

Caroline joined KCLU in October 2020. She won LA Press Club's Audio Journalist of the Year Award in 2022 and 2023.

Since joining the station she's won 7 Golden Mike Awards, 4 Los Angeles Press Club Awards and 2 National Arts & Entertainment Awards.

She started her broadcasting career in the UK, in both radio and television for BBC News, 95.8 Capital FM and Sky News and was awarded the Prince Philip Medal for her services to radio and journalism in 2007.

She has lived in California for ten years and is both an American and British citizen - and a very proud mom to her daughter, Elsie.
