With fears rising over immigration issues including arrests and deportations after the election, Santa Barbara Police Chief Lori Luhnow has made her department's policy clear.
She says Santa Barbara police officers will arrest people who commit crime, but immigration status alone will not be a matter for police action.
Luhnow says she will continue to communicate with citizens about the concerns while collaborating on solutions to improve public safety.
