It's off! SpaceX launches rocket carrying satellites from Central Coast

SpaceX launches a Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Space Force Base Thursday night. It was visible as far away as areas like San Bernardino County.

It was a Central Coast rocket launch visible for hundreds of miles.

SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Space Force Base Thursday night.

People reported seeing the 8:11 p.m. launch throughout much of Southern California. The rocket carried 22 Starlink communications satellites into orbit.
