Santa Barbara County county has a new trailer that acts as a mobile charging station in an emergency

The county has a new trailer that acts as a mobile charging station in an emergency.

The new mobile trailer is powered by solar and hydrogen.

"The goal is to provide a resource to our community during power outages and disasters that hopefully increases the resilience of the community," said Kelly Hubbard, Santa Barbara County Office of Emergency Management Director.

Hubbard said the trailer will provide a charging station for personal and medical devices, as well as be a point of information during power outages during various emergencies.

It can be deployed to a location affected by a safety power shut off in the event of high winds or other power outage event.

The trailer will also be showcased at community events.
