The first in a trio of storm systems to hit the Tri-Counties dropped one to two inches of rain in the region, with more expected before New Year’s Day.
San Luis Obispo had 1.7” of rain and Arroyo Grande had 1.8”.
In Santa Barbara County, Solvang recorded 1.4” of rain, and Santa Barbara an inch. And, in Ventura County, the storm brought a half inch of rain to Ojai, and six-tenths of an inch to both Ventura and Westlake Village.
A second storm system is expected to arrive in the region late Thursday, bringing showers into early Friday. A third system is expected to arrive on Saturday. It isn’t expected to last long, but meteorologists suggest people planning outdoor New Year’s Eve events might want to make arrangements for some rainfall.
