Detectives say they’ve made five arrests in connection with a Mexican drug ring which was smuggling cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine into Ventura County.
Investigators with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Narcotics Bureau say they first learned about the operation in November.
They say they intercepted a number of drug shipments, including one with 35 pounds of methamphetamine. Another shipment which was seized included 30 pounds of methamphetamine, and 20,000 pills containing fentanyl.
Five people from thoughout Southern California have been arrested in connection with the operation. Detectives say the street value of the drugs seized tops $1.1 million dollars.
