After setback in August, new figures show jobless rate drops in Tri-Counties in September

California continues to see a drop in unemployment, with a 3.9% jobless rate reported in September.

California continues to see a drop in unemployment, with a 3.9% jobless rate reported in September.

State also shows improvement in unemployment picture.

After a slight uptick in August, unemployment on the Central and South Coasts dropped last month.

Ventura County’s unemployment rate went from 3.5% in August to 3.3% in September. Santa Barbara County went from 2.9% to 2.7%.

And, San Luis Obispo County had the lowest jobless numbers in the region. The county’s unemployment went from 2.8% in August, to 2.5% in September.

The state’s numbers also improved. The statewide unemployment rate in September was 3.9% in September, down from 4.1% in August.
