A South Coast zoo now has a brand-new resident which is playing peek-a-boo with visitors.

The Santa Barbara Zoo is now hope to a baby wallaby. Kalina was about the size of a jellybean when she was born. She’s now five to six months old.

Newborn wallabies live in the front pouches of their mothers. Zoo visitors have seen her head, or feet popping out of the pouch.

The wallabies are part of the zoo’s new Australian Walkabout area, which allows people to walk among plants and animals from the land down under.
