Detectives are trying to figure out what led to the weekend shooting death of a man on the Central Coast.
The body of a 61-year-old man was discovered in a car on Main Street on the outskirts of Santa Maria Saturday morning.
The car was parked on the shoulder of the street neat Hanson Way. It’s an agricultural area, but there is a mobile home park nearby.
Investigators say some people apparently heard gunshots early that morning, but no one called police. The man was from Santa Maria, but his name hasn’t been released pending notification of family members.
