Central Coast theater renovation project not only on track, but effort is being expanded
In addition to planned work, the Solvang Festival Theater will also get new seats.
A project to renovate a more than half century old amphitheater on the Central Coast is going so well that the effort is being expanded.
The Solvang Festival Theater is undergoing a major revamp. It includes upgrading lighting and electrical systems, better accommodations for those with disabilities, and the expansion of sound walls.
Solvang Theaterfest officials say they are within $100,000 of raising the $4.7 million needed for the project. The effort is going so well that they’ve decided to replace all 700 seats in the outdoor amphitheater.
The renovation work started last September. The goal is to have it done by mid-summer, in time to host some of its popular PCPA Theaterfest productions.
