30 additional COVID-19 related deaths reported on Central, South Coasts since mid-week

The Omicron variant has surfaced on the Central and South Coasts for the first time, with a case in Ventura County.

The COVID-19 surge is easing on the Central and South Coasts, but the death toll related to the virus is still mounting.

Ventura County reporting 17 deaths since Wednesday.

The new COVID-19 case count continues to drop on the Central and South Coasts, but there is still one very concerning statistic in the region.

It’s the number of COVID-19 related deaths. There have been 30 in the region since mid-week.

Ventura County has had 17 since Wednesday. San Luis Obispo County has had eight since Tuesday. And, Santa Barbara County reported five additional deaths Friday.
