A South Coast community college district has announced as a result of the latest COVID-19 surge, its spring semester will primarily start online.
Moorpark, Oxnard, and Ventura College students are set to start classes on Monday. Most classes will be offered virtually. A few classes which require in-person instruction will take place on campuses, with a number of safety protocols in place.
Only vaccinated students and staff members, or those with approved exemptions can be on campus. Those with exemptions have to be tested twice weekly.
Ventura County Community College District officials aren’t saying how long classes will primarily be offered online. They say in-person instruction will be reinstated when there is a reduction in infections and hospitalizations.
