But, public health officials watching closely to see if there are Thanksgiving-related impacts in coming days.

The impacts of the new Omicron COVID-19 variant on California are still a question mark. But, the most recent case numbers of the virus for the Central and South Coasts continue to show improvement.

Ventura County is reporting 323 new cases, and one death since last Wednesday.

Santa Barbara County is reporting numbers daily during the week. The county had 26 new cases Monday, with no additional deaths. San Luis Obispo County hasn’t issued updated numbers since last week.

Public Health officials are on the lookout for the expected arrival at some point of the new variant. They will also be watching the case numbers closely to see if there is a spike connected to Thanksgiving get-togethers.
