A Wednesday morning blaze gutted a shed in a Goleta park, destroying thousands of dollars in youth baseball gear.

The bank will match up to $7,500 in pledges from the community.

A South Coast bank has partnered with a Little League to replace thousands of dollars worth of baseball gear destroyed in an arson fire.

A Wednesday night fire destroyed a shed in Goleta’s Girsh Park Wednesday night. It contained baseball equipment owned by Dos Pueblos Little League.

American Riviera Bank announced it will help. Bank officials set up a special account for the Little League. The bank has pledge to match every dollar contributed up to $7,500. It’s estimated the total loss from the fire, including the shed, is about $30,000.

An investigation is underway to try to find who started the blaze. Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s office detectives are trying to determine if the blaze is linked to other vandalism in Girsh Park which occurred the same night as the arson fire.
