Hundreds of teens reported to be involved in fracas at Oxnard State Beach

It was a wild scene at a South Coast beach which turned dangerous for some police officers.

Police were called to Oxnard State Beach just after 7:30 Monday night by reports of a disturbance. The first officers say they found about 100 teenagers on hand, with some lighting fireworks and breaking bottles.

The officers say they were surrounded by a crowd which grew to about 300 people, with some throwing bottle at them.

Other officers poured into the area and broke up the crowd. One officer suffered a minor injury. Two people were arrested on weapons charges.
