Lilibet "Lili" Diana Mountbatten-Windsor born at Cottage Hospital

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have announced the latest addition to their family, a baby girl born in Santa Barbara.

Lilibet "Lili" Diana Mountbatten-Windsor was born at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital Friday morning. She weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces. In a statement from the couple, they say that both mother and the baby girl are healthy, and are now at the family's home in Montecito.

Lili is named after her great-grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen. Her family nickname is Lilibet. The little girl's middle name of Diana is in honor of her late grandmother, the Princess of Wales.

It's the second child for Harry and Meghan. They have a two-year-old-son, Archie.

The official announcement wasn't released until Sunday, in an effort to avoid the media storm which would have occurred if the birth had been announced while the family was still at the hospital.
