San Luis Obispo County Advances From State's Red To Orange COVID-19 Safety Tier

Move allows things liked added indoor capacity in restaurants, gyms

There’s big news for San Luis Obispo County. The county has finally met the state’s metrics to advance from the red COVID-19 safety tier, to the more liberal orange tier.

The move will allow things like increased indoor capacity in restaurants, gyms, and theaters.

The state announced the change Tuesday. San Luis Obispo County Public Health officials say the move will take effect at 8 a.m. Wednesday.

Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties are already in the state’s orange tier.
