Off Track Betting Could Come To Central Coast Casino; Governor Signs Bill Giving State Approval

The Chumash Casino in the Santa Ynez Valley

The Governor has signed into law a bill which clears one of the final hurdles for a Central Coast casino to offer off track betting for horse races.

The bill approved by the state legislature would allow the wagering at the Chumash Casino in the Santa Ynez Valley.

The U.S. Department of the Interior still has to sign off on the amendment to the tribe’s compact with the state. Chumash Tribal officials say they have no immediate plans to add horse racing to their wagering opportunities, but say they would like to have the option.
