Some Heavy Rainfall On Central And South Coasts, But No Serious Issues In Brush Fire Burn Areas

The storm system hitting the Central and South Coasts has not moved through the region exactly as predicted, but the good news is no serious problems have been reported in brush fire burn areas.

There are no flood warnings or watches for the Thomas, Woolsey, or Hill brush fire burn areas.

Southern Santa Barbara County has had some impressive rainfall totals. San Marcos Pass has recorded 3.7” of rain, Goleta 1.8”, Santa Barbara 1.2”, and Montecito 1.3”. But, rainfall totals have been lower than expected for Ventura and western Los Angeles County.

Thousand Oaks has recorded a quarter of an inch of rain, and Agoura Hills about two tenths of an inch.

We could see some heavy rain on the South Coast through the morning commute. Then, there will be a chance of showers, and thunderstorms through the day, which could be locally heavy at times.
