50's, 60's Hollywood Icon Tab Hunter To Be Honored At Ojai Film Festival

He was one of America’s hottest movie stars in the 1950’s and 60’s. Now he’s going to be honored at a South Coast film festival. Tab Hunter will receive the Ojai Film Festival’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

Hunter was one of America’s heartthrobs, starring in hit movies like “Battle Cry” and “Damn Yankees.” But, he had a big secret at the time which could have destroyed his career. Hunter was gay. Hunter finally wrote a best -selling book in which he confirmed he was gay. That led to a documentary about his story called “Tab Hunter Confidential.”

Hunter and his long-time partner Alan Glaser will be on hand for a Ojai Film Festival screening of the movie November 5th. Then, Hunter will receive the festival’s Lifetime Achievement Award at a luncheon November 6th.
