Supporters contend it's a safe way to tap into oil reserves right off the Carpenteria coastline, and generate millions of dollars in revenue for the city, and Santa Barbara County. Opponents question its safety, calling the proposal an attempted end run around the city's planning process, and saying it won't be the cash cow that's being suggested. KCLU's Lance Orozco looks at Carpinteria's "Measure J" on the June 8th ballot.
