The Resource Center for Nonprofit Management at the Ventura County Community Foundation and the Ojai Valley Executive Directors Roundtable will host a half-day workshop titled “Building a Board that WORKS: Effective Nonprofit Governance Achieving Fundraising Success.”

Bestselling author Andy Robinson provides training and consulting for nonprofits in fundraising, grantseeking, board development, marketing, earned income, planning, leadership development, and facilitation. Since starting his consulting practice in 1995, Andy has provided support and training to thousands of nonprofit staff and volunteers in 45 U.S. states and Canada. At the workshop Robinson will address topics and lead participants in experiential exercises in areas such as designing the perfect board of directors, separation of powers between board and staff, using board contacts to recruit, manage and support boards, why board members can’t or won’t raise money, creating a culture of fundraising for the board, and accountability.

The cost of the workshop is $35, which includes a continental breakfast, lunch and materials.
