The Conejo Recreation and Park District has announced that it will hold Lifeguard try-outs.
March, 24, 4:30pm Thousand Oaks High School Pool
April 26, 8:30am at Newbury Park High School Pool
Swim tests will be given onsite.
The available summer lifeguard positions cover different certifications. The Lifeguard position is open to anyone 16 years of age by June 14, and requires the candidate to be certified in Lifeguard Training. The Instructor position requires the candidate to be 16 years of age have Lifeguard training and Water Safety certified.
The required skills to pass the swim test are being able to swim 300 yards and a 10lb brick tread for 60 seconds. All skills are assessed with a pass or fail. Candidates who pass are immediately given an application and sent into the interview process. Proof of age is required.
