3rd annual Cash for the Coast Benefit Concert

Fri, Mar 21, 2008 at 7:00pm

Lobero Theater, 33 Canon Perdido, Santa Barbara

Event Description

As heard on KCLU's Crosstalk, the 3rd annual Cash for the Coast concert supports the Naples Coalition and its work to preserve the Gaviota coastline. The Benefit’s move to the Lobero and the talent line-up of local luminaries represents a surging interest in the issues surrounding Gaviota coastal development.

Local musician/activist Kenny Loggins is a tireless supporter of causes near and dear to the Santa Barbara community.

One of the greatest singer/songwriters in all of music, Karla Bonoff will grace the Lobero stage with long time musical partner Kenny Edwards.

In addition to his long and fruitful musical partnership with Karla Bonoff, Santa Barbara based singer/songwriter Kenny Edwards was a co-founder of The Stone Poneys, along with Linda Ronstadt and Bobby Kimmel.

Popular guitarist and singer/songwriter Glen Phillips used to be in the band Toad the Wet Sprocket and still plays the occasional show with them.

Jonathan McEuen of the musical McEuen family (which includes brother Nathan and their father John, who was an original member of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band) has been exciting audiences in the area with his licks-propelled guitar slinging and masterful range of vocal stylings.

Moriah(Mo) and John(Jo) Whoolilurie(W) make up the dynamic duo MoJoW & the Vibration Army.

Ojai songwriter Rain Perry is the Grand Prize winner of both the John Lennon Songwriting Contest (Folk Division) and the ROCKRGRL Discoveries Award, as well as a finalist at the Telluride Troubadour competition.

For the 3rd annual CASH FOR THE COAST Kenny Loggins will also be joined by popular local musicians Randy Tico, George Friedenthal, Donzel Davis, Maitland Ward and vocalist Lois Mahalia.
