War Made Easy - Movie Screening

Thu, Mar 27, 2008 at 7:00pm

Thousand Oaks Library, 1401 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks

Event Description

Conejo Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship presents a free screening and discussion of "War Made Easy: How Presidents and Pundits Keep Spinning Us to Death." The film, featuring Norman Solomon and narrated by Sean Penn, exposes a 50-year pattern of government deception relating to military actions.

There will be time after the screening to discuss the film, the human cost of the current wars, and the movement to end war as an instrument of foreign policy. Veterans of the Iraq War have been invited to share their perspectives. Michael Cervantes, President of the Veterans for Peace, Ventura County Chapter plans to participate.

This program was conceived as a way to observe the beginning of the 6th year of the Iraq War. It is presented by the Community Forum, a group established by the Conejo Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship to present monthly events addressing issues important to our community that reflect Unitarian Universalist values.

The program is free and open to the public.
