Event Description
Valparaiso University presents its Choir performing in three counties.
The premier choral ensemble at Valparaiso and one of the top Lutheran collegiate choirs in the United States, the group upholds the highest standard of choral art through performance of the greatest choral literature of all eras. Although dedicated to performing works that represent the university’s Lutheran heritage, the group is also noted for performing significant contemporary works in original languages and music expressing multicultural perspectives.
Under the direction of Christopher M. Cock, this 48-voice ensemble maintains an active schedule of touring, performing and recording. In 2007 the choir toured Germany, appearing at the Thomaskirche in Leipzig and performing Bach’s “St. John Passion” with the Leipzig Baroque Orchestra.
