Event Description

Santa Barbara City College Adult Ed presents Stanislav Grof, M.D., who will present a lecture titled, "The Roots of Violence and Greed: Transpersonal Perspective on the Current Global Crisis."

Stanislav Grof, M.D., is a psychiatrist with over 50 years of experience in research of non-ordinary states of consciousness. Currently he is Professor of Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS), conducts professional training programs in holotropic breathwork and transpersonal psychology, and gives lectures and seminars worldwide. He is one of the founders and chief theoreticians of transpersonal psychology and the founding president of the International Transpersonal Association (ITA). His books include, among others: Beyond the Brain; Psychology of the Future; When the Impossible Happens; Spiritual Emergency, and The Stormy Search for the Self (the last two with Christina Grof).

Pre-register at the Schott (310 W. Padre St.) or Wake (300 N.Turnpike Rd.) Centers, or at the door on the evening of the event as space permits. Admission is on a first come basis.
