Musical Theatre Guild presents Aspects of Love

Sun, Feb 17, 2008 at 3:00pm

Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 Thousand Oaks Boulevard, Thousand Oaks

Event Description

The award-winning Musical Theatre Guild, a company of professional performers who present concert-staged readings of seldom seen musicals, will continue its 12th season with Andrew Lloyd Webber’s romantic 1989 musical Aspects of Love.

Based on the novel of the same name by David Garnett, Aspects of Love boasts a score by Webber and lyrics and book by Charles Hart and Don Black. The story begins in France in 1947 - Alex Dillingham falls in love with alluring actress Rose Vibert. After a little persuasion, Rose joins Alex at his uncle’s villa. As the pair embark on a passionate affair, the arrival of Uncle George changes their lives forever. From the cobbled streets of Paris to the mountains of the Pyrenées, Aspects of Love is a heartbreaking love story spanning 17 years. Passion, desire, family ties and friendship bind five people and three generations together as they come to appreciate how love changes everything. The Phantom of the Opera composer, Andrew Lloyd Webber, has created an achingly glorious score including “Love Changes Everything”, “Seeing Is Believing” and “Anything But Lonely”.

Leading the cast are Broadway veterans Kim Huber (Rose), Roger Befeler (Alex), Michael G. Hawkins (George) and Christina Saffran Ashford (Giuletta). Also featured in the musical are Beth Alison (Jenny), Chuck Bergman (Marcel) and Carol Kline (Elizabeth) with Dane Biren, Dan Callaway, Robin De Lano, Heather R. Provost, Jeffrey Christopher Todd and Anne Fraser Thomas comprising the ensemble. ASPECTS OF LOVE is directed by Calvin Remsberg with musical direction by John Glaudini.

Single tickets are $39 with group and season discounts available.
