UCSB Arts and Lectures presents a film screening of Deep Water.
Deep Water is the stunning and true tale of the fateful voyage of Donald Crowhurst, an amateur yachtsman who embarks on the first solo, non-stop, boat race around the world. The thrilling film from the producer of Touching the Void incorporates news footage as well as Crowhurst’s journals and 16mm footage shot on deck to recount one ordinary man’s attempt at an extraordinary and daunting feat.
New York Magazine calls the hair-raising film “Remarkable and gripping! A harrowing and ultimately tragic story that feels like Grizzly Man meets The Perfect Storm.”
