Event Description
The Karpeles Museum presents their latest exhibit featuring the work of Gloria Sokol.
Gallery Hours - Wednesday through Sunday from Noon to 4 PM.
The Sokol collages are kaleidoscopic images from many cultures, past and present. She uses images of people and other creatures in a decorative exotic mix that is sometimes romantic and often surreal. This unusual combination is sympathetic to the eclectic mix of the Karpeles Museum collections.
Sokol is a native New Yorker, attending the HS of Music and Art and getting her BA from Mexico City College. She has had one-woman shows at Theater de Lys, N.Y.C., Cold Spring Harbor Gallery, N.Y, Coffee House Positano, Malibu and the Townley Room at the SB Public Library.
