Barber’s heartrending Adagio for Strings (in recognition of the composer’s 100th birthday anniversary) and Tchaikovsky’s Variations on a Rococo Theme will be complemented by the Grammy® award-winning Argentine-composer Osvaldo Golijov’s Ausencia for cello and strings and Schumann’s uplifting Second Symphony written in part as a tribute to his predecessor Johann Sebastian Bach.
Throughout the month of March, the Santa Barbara Symphony will be holding a Food Drive, as part of a national League of American Orchestras initiative, Orchestras Feeding America.
