Event Description
The Bell Arts Factory presents the 87th annual Foster Day Exhibit and opening reception.
A celebration in photography and art with artists in attendance at the reception, celebrating E.P. and Orpha Foster and their donations which created many buildings and parks in the county.
The exhibit this year focuses on the cypress and palm trees at the Seaside Wilderness Park on the west side of the Ventura River, better known as Hobo Jungle. The exhibit, curated by Sarah Kalvin, features color photographs taken by Philp Foster Ranger, Jr, great grandson of E.P. Foster, black and white photographs by Bob Eckel taken in the 1990's, and art by Sarah Kalvin.
Also included will be colorfully painted Arundo art sculptures created by children participating in the Fragile Sands - Kids for Conservation classes.
The exhibit runs from Saturdays and Sundays 2:30-4:30 and additional times by appointment. Opening reception to be held on September 5th, at 5pm.
