Event Description
Goleta Valley Beautiful presents their Liberty Elm Tree Project and volunteers are needed.
Eagle Scout candidate Sam Verhasselt is preparing a Liberty Tree Memorial project. The project includes the first planting of the disease resistant American Elm in this area, along with a bench and commemorative plaque. The plaque is provided by the Elm Research Institute of Keene, New Hampshire.
They are interested in promoting elm tree restoration nationwide, as well as providing living legacy of the 1775 Liberty used as a rallying point for the Sons of Liberty. Volunteers and sponsors wishing to participate in this project are encouraged to call for more information.
