Gardens of the World presents their free jazz concert series.
The theme for this year's concert season at Gardens of the World is "Salute to Women in Jazz."

Sunday July 27
Jeannie Tatum & Company
Vocalist Jeanne Tatum, a charismatic and talented performer, has been entertaining music enthusiasts in Ventura and Los Angeles counties for many years. With her own unique style, she has been compared to Roberta Flack, Nancy Wilson and Sarah Vaughn. Recognized as one of the darlings of jazz in Ventura County, Jeanne surrounds herself with quality musicians that compliment her musical recipe of jazz, blues and pop.

Nedra Wheeler Strings and Things
Bassist, composer & bandleader Nedra Wheeler has been performing in Southern California and internationally for more than 25 years. As a recipient of the 2006 Jazz Legends of Los Angeles Award, she brings high energy and showmanship, sensitivity and musical expertise to every performance. A major voice of the women in jazz movement, Nedra brings you her “Strings and Things” group of outstanding, talented, young ladies you won’t want to miss.

Lady Jazz Kickin’ Brazz Featuring Vocalist Sweet Baby J’ai
Sweet baby J’ai is a critically acclaimed singer, songwriter, producer and arranger who has toured the world with her distinctive sound. With pop, soul, folk, jazz and blues styles, she is a provocative and impassioned performer. Lady Jazz Kickin’ Brazz brings an all-star horns and rhythm line-up, including Carol Chaikin on saxophone.

Singers on Parade “A Tribute to Rita and Bob Agnew”
Featuring Lulee Fisher, Vivian Mason, and Julie Kelly with special guests and a great rhythm section. A special tribute to Jazz and to an icon in the LA Jazz Scene.

The Maiden Voyage All-Stars
Led by saxophonist Ann Patterson, the Maiden Voyage All-Stars have been described as “one of the most rewarding bands on the present scene”. They were chosen by the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra to represent jazz in its tribute to American Music at the Hollywood Bowl and have appeared at the Playboy, Monterey and Concord Jazz Festivals and at the Mary Lou Williams Jazz Festival at the Kennedy Center. Featuring Anne King, Cary Harris, Jennifer Hall, Maria Martinez, Karen Hammick and Kristin Korb, the Maiden Voyage All-Stars will take you on a journey through the History of Women in Jazz.
Parking available on Thousand Oaks Blvd. Lawn seating; please bring blankets or lawn chairs for your comfort. Please remember no glass or pets allowed.
