Event Description
The E.P. Foster Library and Cafe on A will feature an evening with author Dr. Roberto Vargas as he speaks on his book, Family Activism: Empowering Your Community, Beginning with Family and Friends.
As Americans celebrate the Fourth of July, cultural psychologist Dr. Roberto Vargas will present concepts from his new book to show individuals, families and communities how to declare independence from their greatest fears and stressors by working together to solve common problems. Dr. Vargas’ book Family Activism: Empowering Your Community, Beginning with Family and Friends has just been published and provides a hands-on tool people are using to find solutions to common family and community problems. By reminding people how to actively engage with others in their social and family circles, Dr. Vargas shows how people can activate positive power to make the changes they desire for healthier families, communities and work groups. Dr. Vargas will be making two local presentations and book signings.
Two signings have been scheduled:
The first is at 5:30 PM on Wednesday, July 2 at Cafe on A in Oxnard, then at 5:30 PM on Thursday, July 10 at the E.P. Foster Library (Elizabeth Topping Room).
