California Native Plants for Your Garden workshop

Meets five consecutive Tuesdays

Santa Barbara Botanic Garden, Arroyo Room, 1212 Mission Canyon Road, Santa Barbara

Event Description

The Santa Barbara Botanic Garden presents a workshop, California Native Plants for Your Garden.

California's diverse flora offers a wealth of beautiful and functional plants for designed landscapes. Whether you desire a colorful flower garden or quiet woodland, an inviting habitat for wildlife, screening for privacy, or some other goal, the choices can be overwhelming. Through Garden walks, slides, and a tour of local gardens, you'll learn to recognize and use native plants suited for the Santa Barbara area.

Carol Bornstein, the Garden's Director of Living Collections and Nursery, holds a B.S. in botany and an M.S. in horticulture. She lectures, teaches classes, and is the co-author of California Native Plants for the Garden (Cachuma Press, 2005). The American Horticultural Society named this beautiful book one of five winners of the 2006 AHS Book Award. Visit our Garden Shop to see this award-winning text!
