Event Description
Santa Barbara Botanic Garden presents Summer Nature Adventures, the 2008 Kids' Camp for Fun and Learning.
Sure to be a week of fun and learning. Enroll your children and grandchildren now for our unique summer day camp! Each day will provide a different thematic focus. Kids will explore our new Discovery Garden and learn about local plants and animals in this outdoor classroom. We'll have hikes, games, and loads of fun with science lab activities, nature crafts, outdoor investigations, art activities, and more. We'll study stream insects, reptiles and wildflowers. We'll learn all about the wonders of nature and make lots of great things to bring home.
Snacks and water are provided, but children must bring their own lunches.
Space is limited, so please sign up soon.
This camp is open to children ages 7-10.
Sally Isaacson is the Garden's Director of Education. She holds a B.A. in natural sciences, an M.A. in botany, and teaching credentials. She has worked at the Garden since 1989 and has taught at a variety of levels for 30 years. Among her areas of responsibility are the Garden's Docent program, elementary school programs, and programs for children and families.
