Event Description

Bodhi Path Center of Santa Barbara presents Buddhist, KhenpoTsering Samdup as he gives two lectures on the Buddhist path.

These teachings will be based on the well known Buddhist text, Jewel Ornament of Liberation by Gampopa. This text provides a solid foundation for both new and experienced students on the spiritual path of Buddhist study and practice.

KhenpoTsering Samdup began his Buddhist training at the Shri Karma Nalanda Institute at Rumtek in Sikkim, a college of higher Buddhist studies founded by the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa. After completing 9 years of study there, he received the degree of Acharya (Master of Philosophy) in 1990. He then continued on as a teacher at Nalanda for one year before being sent by Shamar Rinpoche to teach at the Karmapa International Buddhist Institute (KIBI) in New Delhi. He spends his time teaching at KIBI and throughout Europe, Southeast Asia and America. In 2002, Shamar Rinpoche appointed him Headmaster of Shri Diwakar Vihara Buddhist Institute in Kalimpong.

Khenpo Tsering's visit is being sponsored by the Bodhi Path Center of Santa Barbara, one of an international group of Karma Kagyu meditation groups under the direction of Shamar Rinpoche, a high-ranking lineage master.

No pre-registration is necessary. Suggested donation is $10/session.

Everyone is welcome.
