Event Description

Vita Art Center offers an Iconic Design Symbols, Patterns, and Textures through Etching, Print Making and Assemblage Workshop.

In this class students will develop a personal logo or symbol and apply it to different processes to create pattern and texture. We will etch our designs into metal and plexiglass plates and use our etched plates to print from. To finish we will assemble a mixed media, assemblage wall hanging incorporating the prints and plates we have produced. Students will learn basic design principles, several etching and printmaking techniques, as well as some basic metalsmithing skills. We will reference iconic images from the past and discuss what makes certain images iconic. $25. material fee included in price.
