Event Description
Vita Art Center offers an Installation Art, Sculpting Space Metal Work Workshop.
In this class students will work as a collective whole as we create a giant school of metal fish in the students choice of metals. Once complete, the fish will be suspended together within the gallery. The focus will be on surface enrichment and finishing details. Students will learn different ways to form metal as well as multiple ways to patina it. We will practice fundamental metalsmithing skills in addition to hammering, stamping, and etching. They will talk about the art of installation and discuss how it changes space and effects experience. $25. material fee included in price.
