Event Description
Vita Art Center offers a Wind and Percussion Instrument Construction Workshop.
This featured course is presented by the internationally-recognized artist and musician, Luis Perez. Under Mr. Perez’s instruction, students will explore the culture and musical sounds of Mexico by creating instruments from organic materials such as clay, gourds, reeds, sticks, and cornhusks. Materials are included to construct a clay whistle, water drum, rattle, flute, bull-roarer, and cornhusk mallet. The students will also learn how to play their instruments. The session will end with an informal performance. $25. material fee included in price.
