Event Description
Santa Barbara's Second Annual Men's Conference hosted by The ManKind Project Santa Barbara and Boys to Men Central California Coast will address a mentoring theme. This year's Conference will address the theme of Initiation and Mentoring: Role Models for Our Community.
Headlining the conference will be two highly regarded leaders of the Men's Movement: Malidoma Some, Ph.D., elder, lecturer, and author of Creating a New Sense of Home, The Tribal Community of the Heart; and Aaron Kipnis, Ph.D., therapist, psychology professor, and author of Angry Young Men: How Parents, Teachers, and Counselors Can Help Bad Boys Become Good Men.
Parents, educators, counselors, coaches, therapists, social workers, and other individuals and organizations serving boys and men are encouraged to attend. Saturday is reserved for men only, but women are encouraged to come Friday evening and share in the discussion.
