Event Description
Vita Art Center offers a Metal and Leather work workshop.
Form and Function will be the focus in this class. We will create wearable objects designed to serve a purpose in our daily lives. Students will choose from 1 of 3 leather patterns to adorn with a variety of customizable and recycled hardware elements. Students will learn basic design and pattern making skills as well as leather working, metalsmithing, sewing, and finishing techniques. We will reference objects of utility from the past, discuss the needs that sparked the creation and examine how these objects developed over time. $25. material fee included in price.
