Event Description
Vita Art Center offers an Abstract Painting on canvas workshop.
Mops, brooms, rakes, rags and sponges will be used as well as paintbrushes in this non-traditional painting class. Students will work on large 4’ X 4’ canvases squirting, brushing, rubbing, and scratching textures into the canvases. We will create abstract pieces of art, which at the end of the week will be arranged on a wall to create a collective mural. The class will explore the works of Jackson Pollock, William Kooning and Ed Moses and their place in the “Action Art” movement. NOTE: Wear old clothes and shoes for the class, they will get paint on them. $25. material fee included in price.
