Event Description
Vita Art Center offers a Print Making & Mosaic workshop.
In this printmaking and mosaic class with artist Laura Denny, students will begin by creating a multi colored design on paper which will be transferred to a piece of linoleum. Students will then spend several days carving and printing from their linoleum block to create multi colored prints. The focus of this class will be on learning the subtractive process of printing, proper use of tools and carving techniques, and how to properly align prints for a successful finished product. Additionally, students will create a design in color on paper to be made into a mosaic. We will discuss Roman mosaics and techniques and use mosaics with natural earth tones. NOTE: The process of carving, printing, and making mosaics takes time and patience and is for the more focused and committed student. $25. material fee included in price.
