Event Description
Vita Art Center offers a mixed media sculpture workshop.
In this mixed media sculpture class with artist Laura Denny, students will explore sculpting though the mediums of clay, stone, wood, wire, and plaster. Students will begin by designing and sculpting a small clay model of an animal. The clay model will be referred to throughout the process of carving their animal from a piece of soapstone. Next, students will assemble an abstract structure from scrap wood. These assemblages will then be displayed as group to create an abstract cityscape. Finally, students will create a figure in motion from wire, tinfoil, and plaster. Final pieces will be completed with paint and fabric. $25. material fee included in price.
