Event Description

Ascension Lutheran Church presents Dr. Samuel Thomas, a professor at California Lutheran University, who will explore those issues during a four-part series on “Evil in the Biblical Tradition."

The series, part of the church’s adult Sunday School class, will be presented from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. each Sunday in May and will focus on the following issues:

May 4th, Session 1: “Evil in the Old Testament: God, Satan, and Human Sin”

May 11th, Session 2: “Personifications of Evil in Early Judaism and in the New Testament – Demons, Devils, and Demiurges”

May 18th, Session 3: “Theological Reasoning about Evil: From Augustine to Augsburg”

May 25th, Session 4: “Questions, Answers and Reflections on Evil and the Biblical Tradition”

The public is invited to attend. There is no charge.
