Event Description

Vita Explorations offers a wind and percussion instrument construction workshop. Indigenous Instruments of Mexico will be the focus of this class.

This featured course is presented by the internationally-recognized artist and musician, Luis Perez. Under Mr. Perez’s instruction, students will explore the culture and musical sounds of Mexico by creating instruments from organic materials such as clay, gourds, reeds, sticks, and cornhusks. Materials are included to construct a clay whistle, water drum, rattle, flute, bull-roarer, and cornhusk mallet. The students will also learn how to play their instruments. The session will end with an informal performance.

Kids & Teens Ages 10 & UP
$175. Materials included in fee
Pre-Registration is required. Early registration is suggested the class is limited to 10 students. You may register online or by phone.
