Event Description
The City of Ventura presents the first annual Ventura Bicycle Summit at Sheridan Way School in Ventura offering a bike rodeo, presentations and workshops for families.
10 am to 1 pm: A rodeo where kids meet bicycle racers, learn about safety and skill, learn minor bike repair, get free helmets, raffle for working used bikes, and where both kids and families get to share with the city what would make Ventura more bicycle-friendly.
1 pm to 4:30 pm: A HopeDance benefit and film festival, featuring many exciting, inspirational films about bicyclists, and bikable communities.
4:30 pm to 5 pm: A short dinner/network break with bicycle innovation displays.
5 pm to 8:30 pm: An intensive workshop where citizens take part in numerous activities and discussions about the new Master Bikeway Plan for Ventura, including bike-lanes, more bus racks, lockers, intersections, and more.
The Kid’s bike Rodeo will take place at Sheridan Way School. All other activities will be a few blocks away at the Bell Arts Factory, 432 N Ventura Ave. The film festival is $5, and all other events are FREE.
